Privacy Policy
NearDoor is built to show nearby posts, requests and messages based on the location area a user selects. We do not sell personal information.
1. Information we collect
- Account information such as phone number, Google login details, display name and profile details.
- Selected location information such as latitude, longitude, nearby area label and saved places.
- User content such as posts, asks/requests, optional images, messages, reports and seller verification submissions.
- Notification information such as alert preferences, device push tokens and notification delivery status.
- Technical information such as app version, device platform, crash or diagnostic information and basic security logs.
2. How we use information
- To show posts and requests inside the distance a user chooses.
- To let users post, ask, reply, reserve, chat, report, block and manage their account.
- To send phone OTP login messages and push notifications based on user preferences.
- To moderate posts, review seller verification requests, investigate reports and reduce scams.
- To maintain, secure and improve NearDoor.
3. Location
NearDoor uses location to power nearby discovery. Users can use GPS or manually move a map pin. NearDoor may store the selected latitude and longitude so the app can show relevant posts and requests. We recommend users select an approximate public area instead of an exact home address.
4. Photos and user content
Users may upload optional post images, ask images or seller proof photos. These images may be reviewed for safety and moderation. Users should not upload private documents, financial information or content they do not have permission to share.
5. Messages
NearDoor supports in-app messaging between users. Messages may be stored so conversations work across devices and may be reviewed if a user reports a safety issue or policy violation.
6. Service providers
NearDoor uses trusted service providers to operate the app, including Supabase for backend services, Firebase for push notifications, Twilio for phone OTP messages and map/location providers for map display and geocoding. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to NearDoor.
7. Payments
NearDoor does not currently process payments inside the app. If users agree to buy, sell, rent or provide services, payment arrangements are handled outside NearDoor. Users should confirm items and services before paying.
8. Sharing and disclosure
We may share information when needed to run the app, comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or enforce our rules. Public posts and requests may be visible to nearby users according to app settings.
9. Data retention
We keep account and app activity information while an account is active or as needed for safety, legal, moderation and operational reasons. Users can request account deletion as described on the Delete Account page.
10. User choices
- Users can turn notification categories on or off.
- Users can change their selected location.
- Users can report or block other users.
- Users can request account deletion.
11. Contact
